I'm pretty sure @sjzara has argued that it should be illegal for politicians to say things that are demonstrably false. (Apologies if you haven't Steve).
I guess I'll have to wait till a version of the talk is available online. The tweet after the one you cite says something about science. 1/
I would assume an argument is possible,like: we have freedom to say false things, so there's a responsibility for science/scientists to find/communicate the truth. 2/
