I'm not a philosopher, so maybe this is normal for the discipline, but a lot of what I've read seems to highlight why Stock et al are wrong. There isn't an alternative theory put forward. Is this normal, to only offer critique and not put forward an alternative argument?

I don't think any of this is normal. The intent is to render gender critical feminism verboten within the Academy. The debate isn't conducted within journals, etc, because that would be to confer legitimacy on gcf position. Plus, I suspect they suspect they'd go down in flames.
