When I was doing my PhD in sociology, I used to wish I'd studied philosophy. The way philosophers conduct themselves on social media, and related forums, has totally extinguished any regrets in this regard. Now I wish I'd studied history.

Interesting, I studied history and wish I'd chosen sociology now lol Although a history background does help with framing modern societal issues.
Well that's the thing really. I've come to the view that all social scientists should be required to spend several years studying history. You learn a lot about the limits of human possibility that way (something which sociologists need to take on board).
