There is absolutely zero chance you're going to eradicate extremism completely. It isn't possible. But you can confine it to the margins by building more equal societies that emphasize the things that unite us, not the things that divide us.

as I understand it, this is one of the main motivations for antifa in the US. That they've run out of time to use other those other approaches. I see antifa as arising because the mainstream isn't doing the things you suggest.

I object slightly to your choice of the word "hegemony", as it implies domination of one group over another. By taxing the rich until they squeak, it is like admitting that true power lies in money. It may be best if people realize political truths by themselves and not by force.
