"Uniquely evil" is more difficult to nail down, of course. Not entirely clear what it means.

Actually, everything I've read about Khmer Rouge Kampuchea makes that sound like the most terrifying totalitarian society ever devised by humanity's perverse imagination. Like someone had read 1984 and tried to make it real.
