In Australia Gov has started to force welfare recipients onto a "cashless welfare card" owned by private corporation - INDUE it has terrible consequences for people living in poverty. many report that their rent payments don't go through or are late cards won't work in many shops
Is there any research on whether the move to a cashless society has harmed the ability of homeless people to survive on the streets?

it is at the end of a trial phase, a hard right conservative government has just been re-elected one of their economic goals is to make a cashless card universal for all welfare recipients *ALL* social service organisations R opposed as the harm it is causing is already obvious
