2 major reasons I'm sympathetic to the cause of gender critical feminism: (a) gender critical feminists have been unfairly mobbed and monstered; (b) they've got the better arguments.

I'd never claim the label "feminist" for myself (I'd need a beard for that), but 2nd wave radical feminism has a rich intellectual history, and in academic terms its major claims are perfectly respectable. It should be treated as such, and not as a signal of bigotry.

Plus, the way that large chunks of the academic world - I'm looking at you philosophers - has responded to these issues has been so risible, sheer irritation compels me to sympathize to the gender critical view!

I'm sorry to say I find that absolutely unsurprising. It's tribal all the way down. (Plus some are just scared.) It doesn't make it fair, though, & if you want a platform to take the profession to task, I'll happily publish & promote you on The Philosophers' Magazine website.
