I agree that is dangerous -- that part of why it's beyond bounds. I'm guess trans activists would point to many cases of violence against trans people and perhaps argue that they are merely defending themselves. But stii.
They might argue that way, but it wouldn't be persuasive. Not least, it's not remotely plausible that the perpetrators of violence against trans people tend to be gender critical women. There are many other problems with that argument (as I know you know).
