I think there's an argument that Hines's statement that a woman is just somebody who feels they're a woman is borderline transphobic. If it's a meaningful claim, which it probably isn't, then it's empty. Of course what they really want to argue is there is a veridical category of feeling distinctively marking one out as being a woman. But they're not going to argue that because they know how it's going to play out. (Wittgenstein's Beetle. Unfalsifiable. Unknowable. Not feminist).
