Libel, at least in the U.S. is simple. You publish a lie about a person, that person sues you.
People are getting upset about an absolutely blindingly obvious legal tactic, aren't they? Libel has to be disseminated, and that puts the person who publicized the alleged libel in the firing line? Is that it?
