Curious tension in the left position. It holds (correctly) that racism, sexism, inequality, etc, are systemic, structural problems. Yet leftists tend to be viciously retributive in their attitudes towards racists, sexists - seeing these things as personal moral failings.

This is what disappoints me. Isn't the left supposed to be about compassion? About embracing the humanity in *everyone*? Bigots are people with weaknesses that are being used by the system. Yes they have to be stopped but my god, have some compassion for them in their failure
