I’m not convinced, that someone is widely mocked & derided for failure doesn’t make them a major national political figure. The more people think you ridiculous & pathetic the less your ability to influence.

Ha! Seriously though, I suspect that demonstrating such unpopularity that a group can only manage 30 people at a supposedly national demo make it less likely that people will join them. People want to see some measure of success before committing.
