I like to think I understand some of the reasons why humans demonize the other. I do not understand the consistent and predominant choice of Jews as the target. Would you include Shakespeare too?
I've been listening to an audio book of Burke's "Reflections". I've discovered that its casual anti-Semitic rhetoric is a lot more shocking when spoken rather than read. Hadn't really noticed it before. Mind you, he's nowhere near as vicious as Voltaire...
