Well, I've not seen the meme, and anyway don't care it propagates it. And secondly, it's not a test with zero power. It's absolutely explicitly (see the way the second choice is phrased) a test with only very small amount of power. Third, you're taking it way too seriously!
in the UK, if it were the case democratic institutions were under threat (& again, it was certainly claimed they were), then bothsideism was absolutely necessary. It was the only way to protect the institutions, because it was the prerequisite for a soft left victory.

And you still haven't responded to my argument. In this sort of situation, assuming I'm accurately reporting it (and I am, you can check), is bothsideism justified? If it is, then whether it's justified in any particular case is largely an empirical matter.

But that’s not the “bothsideism” I’m talking about. That’s pragmatism. I have nothing against pragmatism. I supported Clinton, Gore, Obama, Clinton. I’m frustrated with the “far” (“impatient” or “unrealistic” would be a better term) left.
