I wonder how much crossover there is between these people and the ‘punch a nazi’ crowd.
Oh there's a lot of crossover. The punch a Nazi thing, plus the idea that violence can be non-literal, yet still somehow actual violence, has legitimized this sort of thing on the Left. (Though I guess not all punch a Nazi people will endorse the punch a feminist sentiment.)
The first step on the road to violence against a group is always labelling them as "other". Outmoded gender conventions and stereotypes are being dismantled, like it or not. This violence against the "other" is ultimately futile.
