  4. Over the next 24 hours we will see historic flooding on the Schuylkill River and other area creeks and streams. If you live in a flood prone area, please shelter in place until flood waters recede and it is safe to leave your home.

  5. City buildings will be closed today. Employees who can work from home should do so. Trash & recycling collections will continue in areas unaffected by flooding, expect delays. The City continues to manage the storm damage and flooding impacts from the remnants of Hurricane Ida.

  20. Shortly after 8pm, on the 2200 block of Reese street, a Philadelphia Police Officer was shot while responding to a report of a car jacking. The officer suffered a graze wound to the head, and is currently in stable condition at Temple Hosp. in the care of their excellent staff
