This is a particular attitude among some that irritates me to no end. Worry about yourselves people. What others may loot, or get to experience, or do, has zero affect on you. You want to be an internet warrior, by all means knock your socks off. If others don't why do you care?

The gating on allied races is supposed to motivate your wife to spend more money, whether to faction change and unlock and race change or to boost then race change. It's not designed to be fun. It is designed to get you to open your wallet without thinking about it.
-
This. Ultimately Blizzard found something players wanted and monetized it.

The allied race system turned what could have been the ultimate fanservice package into a tedious slog. I'm drained just at the thought of them now.
-
Not to mention how little sense half the grinds even make. Why are we grinding rep to unlock Dark Irons? They've been on the Alliance since cata. Why did Argussian Reach give us Void Elves? etc etc. It's arbitrary busywork with no other purpose than to pad it all out.

What’s sad is that same guy is going to argue: -it’s not a grind -boost a toon and it’s less leveling -faction change -etc That last comment really just sadly sums it up, the level a toon to grind out rep to unlock a toon to level. I’m still in the same boat with the horde races
-
Random thought, didn’t the rep in legion count on both sides? Or was that just because we all had the same factions to be exalted with? Would be kind of nice if it crossed over. That would help with the mind numbing grind.

To play devil’s advocate here, most of the complaints against BfA is that it’s “too easy” since they “just hand you stuff for little effort” (

). Would not removing all the requirements for unlocking allied races make them “too easy”? -
While I have seen that specific complaint from some scattered players, the majority of complaints I see are regarding lack of content, or that the content is boring/unengaging. I don't think other players should worry overmuch how "easy" something may be for someone else.
