In the initial stages of my PhD, I used to think that the Guide is ALWAYS right. I rarely trusted my own ideas. Reminder: 1. Our PIs are human beings and can make mistakes.

Now that my living space was neat and organized, I started returning from lab in time. I paid attention to friendships. Gradually, things started to get in order. Each day, I looked forward to my "me time" of brewing myself a hot cup of coffee once I returned from lab.

I cleaned for several hours straight and by the end I was so exhausted that I fell asleep in fresh sheets, in a clean room where everything was ordered, the shelves were clean, books were organized, clothes were properly folded... It was the most peaceful sleep I had in weeks.

This went on until I was forced to sort out my mess! I was going to have visitors and I could not afford to show them my living condition. So, I began clearing out my room from one corner to another until everything became a bigger mess and then finally was clean and fresh!
