I would also like to reverse the typical RTS "fog of war" so that you can only see things *outside* your immediate area.
Imagine a game where we reverse the tired old LOD system where art actually becomes more detailed the further away you are from it. These iconic monuments would look beautiful from afar but when you actually get there you'll be disappointed. Just like a real life vacation.

There's a neat FPS game concept called Screen Cheat where 4-player split screen 'screen watching' is required to even see your opponents, as everyone is invisible.
