The problem is, those 14 years amount to grinding, except even less interesting. At most, I'd allow players to simulate serving a few weeks of those years before the escape opportunity presents itself. The main mode would still begin at the escape.

On a serious note, if that's realistic avg prison simulation, players would change games (~suicide+reincarnation?). Prison island, maybe.
