The problem with #AWayOut is that you're escaping the prison within hours. Imagine if they forced you to serve 14 actual years inside before escape was even an option? How much more exhilarating would the escape be?

Also depends if you knock down your sentence for good behavior, or extend it for breaking the rules.

You know it would be actually, non-non-ironnically cool if you could sit in prison how long u want until escaping
YES. A simple mouseover would have answered that question.

Isn't life itself kind of a prison? Then you would have served X years (X being your age) before escaping.

On a serious note, if that's realistic avg prison simulation, players would change games (~suicide+reincarnation?). Prison island, maybe.

The problem is, those 14 years amount to grinding, except even less interesting.
At most, I'd allow players to simulate serving a few weeks of those years before the escape opportunity presents itself. The main mode would still begin at the escape.

This is like: "Imagine a war simulation game where you actually have to play the war in real time, so like 6 years and more for finishing the game and you can't turn off the game."
