Make a game out of this. We play as Peter avoiding to play the game as much as possible. As the time goes by, the threats get more violent and and harder to ignore. If the player give in to fear and play his game, its game over.

The punchline tho is that the indie game would be one of the best games Peter ever played, but players who finish the game without giving up will never know.
