s/all/some/ and this becomes an intriguing idea, though I think instead of Y being constant, it would make more sense for it to vary, such that the price as a function of how many people have purchased it is like a sigmoid (with a not-too-large maximum).

This way, it would encourage early adopters, and it would only approach the final* price after it had a chance to be validated as good by the players who were willing to take a small risk by playing a small price for a game before its quality had been evaluated by many players.
