So you work for Rockstar?

-
The developer community is as one singular entity. We spread our ideas far and wide.
-
You're not making any sense. Are you saying that every developer in the video game industry works for Rockstar? Because that's what I'm asking you.
-
I'm not working for them under any contract but I do like to post them bits of paper through their letterbox with some of my ideas from time to time.
-
That's where they got the horse testicle idea from

I really hope you’re being sarcastic here. Healthy working conditions are essential, and no amount of “pizza and soda” will make it up to a parent not seeing their child or a worker not seeing their partner. + Don’t say that it isn’t obligatory: social pressure and job security.
-
You’re right, we care deeply about improving family life for our staff. We’re currently looking into providing a 30min Skype call with their loved ones every night. If they maintain productivity we may even extend that time.
-
Ok, my bad :P obviously a joke account, wasn’t obvious from the get-go. Annoying thing is that I actually believed that somebody in the industry would have this opinion. And many do.
-
We also allow our staff to have up to 2 picture frames for their desk. As long as they are wooden otherwise it causes issues with our security machines.
-
Depends are freely available also. Cutting out breaks is key to productivity! We simply shackle devs to their chairs 24 hours a day.
-
And after a couple of weeks like that, it also gets rid of the pesky “family and loved ones” problem... genius!

If the result is a freaking masterpiece it is well worth the sacrifice.
-
No masterpiece is worth the wellbeing of hundreds and their families.
-
Lets just wait a couple of weeks before making such statements shall we? If they were really being forced to do this then we'll see little bits of dialogue appearing here and there in the finished product.
-
Exactly, they may be working 24/7 because they love it, my question is, did the same happen with GTA V? Or Witcher 3? Or God of War?
-
I don't work in the games industry but I can say for sure that no one loves working 100+ hours every week.
-
Many books and other types of art that are considered masterpieces the authors spent their lifes on creating it, my question is how much they love building this game to do it, yes it is not healthy, but I can see the team working together to finish it without enslaving orders.
-
People can be lead to hate working on it. What can start with love could end in hatred so no. You're kinda wrong.
-
I recently read Blood Sweat and Pixels by Jason Schreier, every game, every time, they are all hyped up and ready to make the game, but in the end they want nothing to do with it, it's really fascinating, but understandable.
