I can't get over this "France is more east than Haiti". Japan and India have ADOPTED the western European model. This is so ass-backwards

No, neither Japan nor India are western and neither of the countries aspires to be. 'Western' does not mean "uses a parliamentary system".

Furthermore, Japan was not 'remade in the image of the US', there was something called 'Kennan Reversal' in which that idea was cancelled.

The reason that the 'Kennan Reversal' happened, was because someone in Washington remembered, wisely, that East Asia is not Greco-Roman.
