Are Jews white? Sometimes. But if you don't think white privilege is operating here, imagine if Malia Obama had converted to Islam and married a devout Palestinian Muslim, who Barack Obama then put in charge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. You can't even imagine it, can you?https://twitter.com/axios/status/1135323134259802112 …

Thank you for this. You are right. We often have this tightrope balance of being considered white sometimes, others not. But this is not just white privilege, it's rich white privilege. And there is some Jewish privilege here as well, that even white Muslims don't have.

"You can't even imagine it, can you?" - No. But having DJT as president could not be imagined either. These times are not normal.

Just as liberals would say attacking a mediator because of his Muslim faith in your theoretical situation would be inappropriate, I don't see here blaming Kushner's faith here as helpful. Kushner's policies have been awful and disastrous toward peace. Let's focus on that

Kushner had preconceived perception/opinions of the conflict before he joined the admin and it was all faith related. His family support to illegal settlements, undivided, eternal capital in Jerusalem, the relationship with Netanyahu, etc. All these are related to his faith.
