Pete, thank you so much for listening. For so long our voices and concerns have felt as though they belonged in the backseat. I’m already Nonverbal but this just made me speechless. I look forward to the day we meet and what we can do to better our country!

You’re amazing!

I second that

Two things about this video: (1) This might be greatest speech of support a candidate has received from a constituent thus far in this election. (2) I think Major Pete should actually consider hiring him in his campaign! Also, I like how you sign “lip service”... priceless.
-
I agree with you 100% and just posted similar statement.

It will help amplify his voice if we like and retweet the original tweet as well...it is a two parter! Disabled folks don’t often get this kind of exposure or opportunity.
-
So true, thanks for voicing a great idea.

I bet Pete will learn sign language to communicate with
@pleasantandy . -
You’re too late. He learned ASL this afternoon over lunch.

Pete: I don’t know who I’ll ultimately support. But I have to say what a pleasure it is to watch a serious, uncynical, untheatrical grownup launch a campaign of ideas.
-
I’m with you Steve. Mayor Pete lifts us up!

It's great to see a candidate actually listen to a person with a disability, instead of mocking them.
-
Breath of fresh air. If I had the tech skills to do so, I’d put a screenshot of this tweet alongside one of Trump mocking the disabled reporter.

So SOME identity politics is ok with you, but not others
-
Identity politics of all kinds is the backbone of Buttigieg’s campaign — to bring all identities and experiences togetherpic.twitter.com/kp8YVgRgUr
-
Yep, he subscribes to the “common humanity”, rather than “common enemy” approach to the question of identity. A healthy approach.

Hey Pete, if you could get some good, qualified interpreters at your events, it would make a huge difference to people who need sign to get your message!
-
There was an ASL translator at his book reading at the library in South Bend a couple of weeks ago, but perhaps provided by the library. Not sure.
-
That's awesome. I haven't seen them in any of the videos I have seen so far. It can be hard to get an interpreter for pop-up functions, but if the campaign pays for one, then that person can accompany Pete.
