    The Countess’s visit is in support of campaign, which has seen 3 million people commit to having their eyes tested globally.

    🚸The Countess was told about research which found that half of children in SEN schools will have a problem with their vision, yet 44% of them have no eye care history. And the problem has grown during the pandemic, with global rates of shortsightedness on the rise.

    Last week, we warmly welcomed Global Ambassador HRH The Countess of Wessex to . In support of , The Countess saw our pupils having their eyes tested, as part of a project and partnership. 👁️

    👁️Today is . To mark the occasion The Countess of Wessex, who has been a Global Ambassador for the since 2003, visited in London to support an initiative encouraging children to have their eyes tested.

    👓The pupils at have special educational needs, and are therefore at greater risk of developing sight problems than other children. Her Royal Highness, who is Patron of , observed as carried out the sight tests on the children.

    Thank you so much to HRH the Countess of Wessex for coming to see this groundbreaking work at and highlighting that everyone has an equal right to sight, and that everyone can and should have their eyes tested. 👁️

    Parrot Class have enjoyed exploring their new topic of Rumble in the Jungle this half term. They loved exploring what makes up the jungle, including the soil, leaves and animals + pupils worked hard as a group around a big tuff tray, and had lots of messy fun!

    Elephant Class have been having lots of fun with their Creative Curriculum topic 'Space Explorers'. Pupils had lots of fun working out how the telescope worked, and realising that it makes things look much bigger!

    This afternoon, we look forward to welcoming a Percussion Tutor and SEN Specialist from MMF to begin a 10 week block of music tuition with one of our classes. We can't wait to find out how they get on and how much they enjoy the sessions!

    This afternoon, some of our Sixth Form pupils will be attending the St Piers College virtual open day to find out a bit more about what the college has to offer young adults with special educational needs and disabilities. We hope that they enjoy the experience!
