    In SY18/19, nearly 3,600 high school students left Wards 7 & 8 to attend school in Wards 1-6. Along w/ the re-imagination of & , this is part of a renaissance of high schools .

    New study shows the effects of gentrification on schools. Reflects some of what D.C. has experienced. "Declines in enrollment may come b/c gentrification displaces families, while new entrants don’t have kids or are skeptical of neighborhood schools."
