The Howard bike route is about 15 blocks long. We’ve fought for 2 years and 9 months since Kate was killed for Protected lanes. We have 5 blocks (and the car-priority design btwn 8th and 9th shouldn’t count). We need protected lanes all the way to Embarcadero! Not in +2yrs 9mospic.twitter.com/RU3mpy9eYU
This Friday will be the 5th @PeopleProtected action on Howard. Thank you to everyone who has stood on the line. Please invite new friends this Friday to grow the movement. This dangerous street impacts so many lives. We support Life>Parking @LondonBreed @MattHaneySF
What are we doing? Wearing? Signs? Showing up? Never been to something like this lol
So glad u are coming! (1) we provide yellow shirts for the event (2) we stand on the line and create a protected lane (3) we cheer on passing bikers (4) we make new friends and change our city together. We are also going to do a short group ride to the mission after
Lanes and not slower speed limits? Why don’t you try a slower speed and then see where you need separated lanes?
Huh? Lowering the posted speed limits won't do anything when the road is wide enough to feel like a highway. We can slow cars down a little by narrowing driving lanes and adding a protected lane; then it will be safer for everyone.
I’ll be there.
