@brianwhelanhack the fuck WHAT? Why would you even think that?

@PennyRed You had friends in common with Weev and let out details which could inform readers of his vile character. It's pretty simple.

@brianwhelanhack the internet was aware that Weev had loathsome politics. But he wasn't on trial for those politics. It's pretty simple.

@PennyRed In New Statesman you referred to him as "internet activist" - "fighting for freedom of information" - not really the full picture

@brianwhelanhack yes, he was doing those things, and that's what he was imprisoned for, and I think that was wrong, whatever his politics.

@PennyRed but you also thought it OK to withhold details of his politics, despite having close friends in common?

@brianwhelanhack Molly isn't a close friend of weev's. Get your story straight. As I said to you last time you tried to 'expose' me.

.@PennyRed Christopher Hitchens defended David Irving's right to free speech, but always noted that he was a Nazi. It's your responsibility.

.@jjarichardson I did not know weev was a full-on white supremacist at the time of the trial. I thought he was a sick troll.

.@PennyRed Isn't that sort of a same difference? Would you ally with racist and antisemitic trolls in any other context?

.@jjarichardson I utterly condemn weev's neo-nazi politics. I still think his was an unjust trial, and I still oppose the CFAA.

.@PennyRed I respect that you oppose the CFAA but fundamentally I don't think that you adequately critiqued weev's bigotry from the outset.

@jjarichardson understood. I'm not the only one who made that mistake, and I regret it- I simply didn't realise how bad he was.

@PennyRed Fair enough, I respect your strength of feeling about CFAA and am aware of the vitriol that you receive that is also inexcusable.

@PennyRed @jjarichardson You can't pick and choose when you oppose an unjust law. Not if you're genuinely interested in justice.

@PennyRed @jjarichardson you can condemn the trial and oppose the person. Next time it could be a thoroughly decent person...
