All my love and deepest sympathies are with David’s family, friends, staff and constituents. He served his community with his whole heart and he brought us all immense joy. An amazing, kind man who knew what mattered in life.

So shocked especially someone as warm and welcoming as Sir David. His work for animal welfare, his love for the people of Essex, his dearest wish of Southend getting City status, a good man, a kind man.
