    My star dish last Saturday; despite the lovely halibut in the picture, it’s that brilliant little salad. Layers of delicate, fresh leafy tastes and textures, pops of flavour from the vinaigrette - wonderful. Oh, and epic bread!

    Somewhat unexpectedly, The Belle’s Stratagem is an absolute treat - funny, truly irreverent, witty, brilliantly performed. Even the music was entirely appropriate. Delightful.

    My star dish - from an excellent 4-course lunch I’m picking the trout. Perfectly-cooked, deep pink, succulent fish; mussels; wild leeks; bold, sweet crunchy turnip discs. And a bottle of 2010 AR Riesling, rich and off-dry.

    My star dish - hot, fresh pitta, fragrant with oregano, and deliciously salty baked Feta, mashed down into olive oil and green peppers. What a combination. Simple, tasty food.
