Personal/Professional News: After an incredible (almost!) 7 years, it is time for me to move on from @TransAlt. 12/13 will be my last day.
I can't begin to articulate how much working for this organization has meant to me both personally and professionally.
Working with so many committed New Yorkers to bring about changes to our streets has been an honor. Thank you to all the amazing activists I worked with over the years. Too many to name, but you know who you are. The most important change happens through collective action...
Lowering NYC's speed limit, winning the largest speed safety camera program on earth, the 14th Street #PeopleWay, and all sorts of protected bike lanes and pedestrian spaces (some better than others, some easier to win than others), all happened because enough people cared...
I've got some exciting next steps that I'm looking forward to, but more on that later. In the meantime, thank you *all* for being involved, responding to my last minute pleas to come to community board meeting, or trek to Albany to fight for a better New York City (and world).
The team at @TransAlt is incredible, and I'm looking forward to seeing where @marco_conner, @TransitErwin, @HeyNell an @DannyHarris_TA take it next.
Something tells me Robert Moses is shaking in his boots.
Lastly, my colleagues will certainly miss Lennie’s daily presence in the office!

Last note: @NYC_SafeStreets are the most amazing people, and the fiercest advocates in NYC. They are righteous, they will not be stopped, and we are so fortunate to have them.
So much of that is because of leaders like @amylcohen, @judyfss, @DMkahn128, and Chana Widawski
