It’s not that simple. I hope you feel sorry for the folks who have to deal with this

It really is that simple, it’s done all over the place. I do feel bad for them and their losses, that’s why it’s so frustrating to me to see something so simple be overlooked.

You clearly have no concept of the size of California. Go home ...
-
Nah, I only lived their for half of my life. Doesn’t matter how big it is, the lumber that would be harvested from this practice would negate the billions of dollars spent to fight these fires that shouldn’t happen in the first place.

Poor timing. My family hasen’t been heard from since early this morning. I have no idea if they are safe. Your PSA can wait. Have some compassion and tact.
-
I hope everyone will be reunited with their loved ones, including yourself. No one should have to go through this.

The area that's burning is not all dense woodland. Much of it is scrub oaks and grassland. The vegetation here is burning so easily because of the lack of rain this year and years past.
-
I grew up in PA where they’re are many rolling hills that are undeveloped, covered in years of dead grass/vegetation. It was commonplace for these areas to be control burned every 3-5 years regardless to keep this sort of thing from happening. No fuel = no fire.
-
We do prescribed burns here too. Our mountains a little bigger than back east though, and it makes prescribed burns impossible in the most fire prone regions. We've also experienced more drought and that complicates things as well.
