  5. Today PCV Katie-Lauren organized a spelling bee with her form one class. The spelling bee functioned as a fun way to review for upcoming exams as well as promote literacy in the class! Overall, the students had a blast and excelled at spelling Biology focused words

  7. 11 PCVs are wrapping up a Food Security training on harvest management in Morogoro! These volunteers have learned about building solar dryers, preparing fruits and vegetables for drying, fermenting, agribusiness, and Purdue Improved Crop System bags. Good luck pcvs!

  8. President Kennedy named three major focuses for the Peace Corps in 1961, malaria education and prevention was one of them. To this day, our volunteers are still engaging their communities in malaria education and outreach, especially today, World Malaria Day!

  10. Congratulations Hannah Jerdonek of Tanga for a successful World Aids Day soccer event! Hannah and her counterparts were able to educate over a thousand young men in her region on the importance of avoiding risky sexual behavior Great job, Hannah!

  12. After learning how to lead cooking demonstrations a few weeks ago, Health Trainees had the opportunity last week to teach others. During this cooking demo, they worked with women in nearby villages to make jam!

  13. This week, the Agriculture Trainees learned about best practices and improved strategies for food preservation and storage. They now understand the way to winnow corn, and had the opportunity to see different food drying structures.

  16. During site visit, Shaye had the chance to bond with her neighbor, the main clinician at the health center in her community. She's excited to live right next door to the health center, and to have a neighbor and friend who speaks a little bit of English!
