Mhm… what else did you have in your forecast bubba?

As usual, models bust hard on Arctic air masses. Temperatures are already 10゚colder than what they thought they would be. Many reports of freezing drizzle and light snow grains this morning. Thankfully I had that in the forecast over the past couple of days.

I remember at that age (15) not understanding why it was 20 degrees and there was consistent heavy rain. I kept waiting for a changeover to snow but was confused. Must have been a ton of moisture because it didn't stop raining for 2-3 days

I was in rural Braggs, OK living when this hit. Easily got 1+ inches of ice accumulation. Lost power for probably 10-12 days, and you could hear limbs crashing every couple seconds for miles around. Most insane weather event I’ve ever been through

This week (Jan 26-27) in 2009, much of NW #ARwx and parts of E #OKwx were impacted by a major ice storm, which produced 1-2" of ice and left tens of thousands without power...some for nearly 2 weeks!

Gets interesting early next week. 12z ECMWF has a perfect setup for cold to be sliding down the plains and some moisture return would cause winter precip issues somewhere from TX to Ohio Valley. SE ridge looks decent on this run which is good for winter lovers NW of it!

I’ll be honest I’ve seen plenty of frustrating snow storms. One that parks a near circular area of warmer/dryer air over a particular area and refuses to snow all day when you’re forecasted for 3+ inches just about takes the cake. Kind of impressive tbh

Just now got the changeover to snow in Claremore, OK. Too little too late. Might see a dusting before sunrise if it doesn’t all melt. What an annoying storm this was. Hoping during the cold shot next week we get a chance at real snow

Starting to think the Tulsa area and areas to the Northeast along I-44 are going to be the bullseye losers for this event. Lots of dry air hanging around with temps at 37-39. As the low moves Northeast tonight we might get 1-2 inches but I think that's about it

Why am I being snow-holed. This is an atrocity

Based on observational trends, we've updated our forecasted snow totals. Not much change for most of the area, but snow totals were lowered near Tulsa and areas to the north and west of there. Significant snow is still on track for east-central OK and northwest AR. #okwx #arwx

I want the Huckberry wax canvas jacket Joel wears in The Last of Us so damn bad but I can’t justify spending $298 on it….. I swear though it looks like it would last 15 years

This is what it’s going to be like for far right wing crap, misinfo, vaccine doubts, etc. This isn’t empowering the “freedom of speech and info” on Twitter. It’s giving people a way to cast doubt and legitimize misinformation

The idea of “citizen journalism” on Twitter is so profoundly stupid. It’s just means people can place notes on tweets casting doubt for whatever reason they like. What evidence does Elon have for this claim? None, other than a “trust me” and that’s how the whole thing works

Twitter is starting to resemble Facebook more and more. No semblence of a chronological timeline, all I see are tweets of people I don't know, and my TL is thick with cheap crappy ads. Everything that made Twitter cool in the past is mostly gone

Tuesday/Wednesday snow around NE Oklahoma honestly looks like a 32-34 degree mess. Starts as rain, changeover to a wet, heavy snow, probably only accumulating on the grass. If it's heavy enough we could maybe get 2-3 inches but it's not going to be a fun snow

GFS is finally on board with the Euro's version of some amount of snow Tuesday-Wednesday for the Oklahoma area. Love to see it
