    No design artifact - a mockup, a prototype, a case study - can serve as a stand-in for a conversation. They are tools that make your conversations more powerful, but a force multiplier of any magnitude is wasted if the base value is zero.

        Quantitative skills are very important, especially when you have to lead management by the hand from "we need to increase revenue!" to some kind of leading indicator.
