Well if the banking crisis did not bring us to our senses to put people before profit, power and celebrity, let's pray that this coronavirus pandemic does. It will cause so much suffering...but we can be transformed by trouble. In every problem there is a hidden opportunity.

When Horta Osario took over at LBG he assured the market that the total compensation for PPI would be £3.5 bn. It's now £22 bn. But he has still been paid £56 million since he started. And no-one has been prosecuted or suffered regulatory enforcement. What can we say??

Banks forging signatures on an industrial scale to fraudulently repossess people's homes, seize business assets, etc. This has to be the biggest financial scandal to emerge in the UK since the 2008 crisis. Kudos to for getting the story out.

Total remuneration (last tweet), shld be MAX of 40x average pay for public co. execs (£1m) Any amount above that should be subject to higher rates of tax (up to 75%) plus a formal comply or explain report in annual rpt and accounts. Multiple of 20x in public sector.

The pay of top execs of large companies is ridiculous. They take no capital risk. They only get bonuses but no maluses (deductions from base pay for poor performance). Remuneration committees and their advisers are riddled with conflicts. See nxt tweet.

This analysis by my friend Stuart Reynolds summarises the problem perfectly. We don't live in a democracy.

I am amazed and delighted to read that FCA appear finally to be taking culture seriously. People with high levels of psychopathic attributes get to the top and they lead cultures if fear which leads to mental health problems and corporate disasters.. banking crisis!

I see you've deleted this . Don't worry I saved a screenshot so the British public will always remember you now support "trashing democracy" as long as it furthers your career. I'm sure you won't mind people retweeting your fine words.

The FCA is either incompetent and spineless or corrupt. If it can't find a way to bring enforcement action in relation to RBS GRG, it might as well not exist.
