I wonder how this changes how we coach? I’ve always been a proponent of playing up tempo but a big emphasis is on ‘shot selection’ given the value of having the ball. Now with a shot clock, teaching to be more aggressive & assertive shooters will be key.
Congratulations college lacrosse. 20 seconds to get over the equator, then a 60-second shot clock will begin. Any reset (save, pipe, defensive infraction) will reset to 60. Cleaner than having 90 seconds of running clock (via @RPDLacrosse). Excited to watch. We just got better.

Be careful what we wish for...could this be the death of man-to-man defense? Why not just pack it tight into a zone and force shots from deep? I fear it could actually make the game LESS exciting. Hope I'm wrong, though.

Will there be replay for pipe shots? Potential issue as it is in basketball for shots that barely hit the rim.

Likely, yes. If the ball hits the goaltender or a pipe on a shot, the clock would reset.
