No need for a prediction market for this. Just a nice UI and one smart contract.

The Dapp is for losing friends?
-
You don't have to use it with your life's savings. Having your friend attach $10 to a commitment that they will start the project they long said they'll start sounds fun.

I’ve been thinking about this with sablier to make me get out of bed quicker. A DApp that starts streaming money away to a charity as soon as my alarm goes off, only stops the streaming when I get up and scan a QR code in my kitchen / bathroom.

An acquaintance made this: https://loftesmaskinen.se It's in Swedish and you deploy a contract for every promise, but uses several arbiters and sends the money to charity. But really, what is the difference between sending your friend the money?
-
1. The timelock makes the money neither theirs or yours 2. Putting a promise on the blockchain is a much stronger commitment than via chat app 3. A user interface would "formalise" the game and get more people to play

We’re building this at
@GovrnHQ for politics specifically but the contract could be applied to anything (friends, charities, startups, hackathons, etc...) -
Let me know when I can try it out!

Lock funds in a timelock contract
Sign a promise that you will do something
Make a friend the arbiter of the locked funds
If you did as promised, your friend releases the money for you, but if you didn't, the money is theirs.
