Paul McAuliffe TD’s posts

I found it difficult coming to my decision to vote yes. Ultimately I found my position that life was equal fine in theory but when applied to the practicality of women’s lives, it became cruel and unfeeling. Particularly when applied to the lives of women I know #WhoNeedsYourYes

South William Street tonight. I really understand the frustration of people but this picture doesn't look like anyone there is "halfing the number of close contacts they had last week"

Honestly as we approach June and July and large numbers of people are due to be offered a first dose...Isn't it time we considered decommissioning NPHET.

From June 7th - Wet Pubs Outdoor service is permitted for a maximum of 6 persons aged 13 or over per table. Limit of 6 does not include accompanying children aged 12 or younger. The total combined capacity at a table cannot exceed 15 overall (max. 6 persons aged 13 and over).

In the past 10 days has represented Ireland in Paris London and Washington with real decency. Like anyone he'll be disappointed not to meet President Biden in person but he doesn't get hung up on those things, For him it's always been about the work.

Without the special criminal court there would be ordinary Dubliners heading in to a jury room today with legitimate fears of intimidation from gangland criminals. We've voted to renew this court to protect citizens. Dail votes often seem abstract but they have a real impact.

As I said this week, the tools we used last year will not work this summer. We need to decommission them and instead use strong clear easily followed public health messaging. With many first dose vacinated and young people less anxious about vulnerable relatives, we must pivot.

I should say that @SenLynnRuane hasn't sought my endorsement but on the TCD ballot her name stands out. She was a consistent presence at events I hosted in the Mansion House. Events where people often felt stigmatised and left out. Her presence there meant a lot to them and me.

Obviously the 'click bait' phenomenon is now embedded in print journalism too. Pornography is not going to be 'studied' in school. We are going to equip young people to have positive and happy relationships, to understand the online world and to understand themselves.

The idea that NPHET recommendations are known on twitter and media before they are even sent to government is just no way for nphet to do business. Ministers should not be reading advice from their public health advisors for the first time on social media.

Not only did Sinn Fein vote against 853 public homes on Oscar Traynor tonight, they voted against a deal better than their 2015 and 2019 proposals. 🏚2015 SF support 20% 30% 50% on ODG & OTR 🏚2019 SF propose 33% 33% 33% for ODG 🏚2021 SF vote against 40% 40% 20% on OTR 🤯

I want to thank for talking time out to speak with me about how I can use my influence to push for more immediate action. It was fascinating to see the movement at work from the inside. I'm a small cog in a greater national response put I pledged to play my part.

A bit surprised at this tweet. Using unkind caricatures is just being nasty dressed up as humour. Portraying a party leader as a witch or a cartoon villain is something id expect from a party troll not an oireachtas member. Particularly one with such ability.

This will most likely make twitter go mad but worth noting in today's poll 📊More people support government parties than opposition parties. 47% to 44% 📊More people support FF and FG than SF 43% to 35% 📈 peoples satisfaction in government is up 9 percentage points.

Lots of talk about FF keeping SF out of Government even though SF can form a government without FF or FG. To me it looks like they are trying to create a narrative where their failure to persuade other parties is some how FF's fault. If you have the numbers get on with it.

We wouldn't tolerate a road being unpassable and we can't tolerate a cycle lane either. Residents on Griffith Ave have long been swamped with tons of leaves each autumn, its not an easy task but path and cycle lanes must be kept clear by

Such a difficult day yesterday for the community of Dublin West. For family, neighbours, gardai and shop staff. It's not helpful for Twitter and particularly elected reps to speculate prior to an independent investigation. For now, let's give them all some respect and space

This kind of dishonest presentation is the real issue many have with current day SF. So in CSC SF got 24%. FF got 35%. FF+FG got 56%, double the SF mandate and the new government 65%. Yet they say "broadly rejected" can you describe it as anything other than a lie? 1/2

Have a look at the views and interactions on these two posts, all be it on different platforms. This is a good example of how eye catching content seems to win out over factual content. It's a real issue for our democracy and reinforces the need to have trusted independent media

Tonight's documentary on the kidnapping of Don Tidey and the murder of those protecting Ireland reminds us how dark a time the 1980s was in Ireland and how the lives of innocent people were devastated by savage acts of brutality that had nothing to do with British occupation.

As I sat in the Chamber yesterday. I heard MLMcD accuse me of being part of the elite, of protecting the 1%, of not being on the peoples side. She isnt right but the more we reject it the more she says we are excluding. She was only short of saying drain the swamp.

The expulsion of diplomats should only happen when there is a fundamental breakdown of relationships and where those contacts will not be useful to improve relationship. Ireland must defend the principal of sovereignty. We must expel the Russian ambassador.

So today Sinn Fein admitted they have created a database recording if people have voted or not in a central searchable database for multiple constituencies. No other political party holds this. The state does not hold it and all without the knowledge or permission of voters.1/2

I despair at headlines like this. It could as easily say SF fail to persuade other parties to support their candidate. Instead it suggests they have some special rights beyond their size or that they are subjected to a different process than other parties. Both of arn't true. 🙄

Having recently been appointed as spokesperson for bscially . Let me kill this straight away. There is no plan to reintroduce household water charges, it's not in the PFG and Fianna Fáil TDs would not support it. Can we call that the story killed.

My kids have a credit union account that their grandad had setup and they came under PEP guidelines. I presume it's to prevent politicians using their children's accounts to hide corrupt payments. The more transparency the better I feel.

I understand the HSE has made a decision to close a school in the Dublin 9 area. Parents have been contacted and I have also contacted the school concerned to see how I can be of assistance. This is a public health issue and we are best following the HSE's advice closely.

Fianna Fail are fully committed to a united Ireland, through exclusively peaceful means, honouring the principle of consent and ensuring parity of esteem. To achieve it we must work hard to share this island with those who disagree with us. Thats the job Hume and Mallon left us.

It pains me to see these shocking scenes from Grafton Street today. These gatherings are totally wrong in the context of a public health emergency. The analysis of this event will come in the coming days but for now I'm calling on people to leave this area of the city and go home

Importantly, I was not 'slagging' NPHET. Nor calling for them to be disbanded. There was a time for prescriptive, regulations but once large numbers are vaccinated we need to decommission those tools used earlier in the pandemic. Overly complex rules will see less adherence

If there ever was a war on drugs, we've lost it. We cannot keep criminalising addiction. We need trauma informed communities, to hold the citizens assembly and to work with families and communities in advance of that.

A significant number of TDs walked out tonight when the offences against the state act was being renewed. The Bill prevents intimidation of jurors and witnesses by gangland crime gangs and terrorist groups. My community sees this first hand and yet some TDs walk away. 😡
