    I love Super Bowl statistics. (“No team that has failed to convert at least 35% of their 3rd downs has gone on to win” etc.) They are the best introduction to p-hacking that can be found outside major journals.

    Starting today, Twitter will preserve JPEGs as they are encoded for upload on Twitter for Web. (Caveat, cannot have EXIF orientation) For example: the attached photo is actually a guetzli encoded JPEG at 97% quality with no chroma subsampling.

    hard drives are basically radios (with ~1GHz of baseband bandwidth) that talk only to themselves; there's everything, time/space synchronization symbols, AGC training preamble, Viterbi detection/equalization, LDPC decoding, they even do MIMO these days!
