And what's doubly nice about this story is that Wrexham Chauffeurs became aware of the Fair Tax Mark scheme after seeing proudly display their accreditation locally So a big shout out to and the Timpson Group

Love seeing local media cover Fair Tax Mark accreditation. In many ways its more important than national media, as research shows that people trust local news more - and helps us build the case for tax justice at a community level. wrexham.com/news/wrexham-c

Wigan Athletic's 5th relegation since lifting the FA Cup 10 years ago. But they’ve won Lg 1 three times, reached the Championship play-offs, the FA Cup semi-final, gone into administration, docked points, survived closure, avoided Lg 2 by a point + played in Europe.#wafc unique.

Great investigation by "Fewer than six financial penalties for enabling failed tax avoidance schemes issued since 2019; and fewer than 15 criminal investigations opened between 2017 and this year!" HMRC's response is: but we name & shame?!

Oligopolistic banks are exploiting UK savers to an incredible degree now, with no government efforts at mitigation, no competition agency action, not even verbal recognition by ministers (loaded up with bank shares in”blind trusts”)

Hardly a "crackdown". Just six criminal convictions Being banned as a company director for a few years after being found guilty of loan misuse and your business already insolvent is an awfully weak deterrent. No wonder the suffering a fraud epidemic

Further welcome example of "ESG" funds having to grapple with 'tax conduct' of investees. For far too long, many have simply turned a blind eye

Positive development European supervisory authorities have recommended that Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulations (which apply to ESG funds) should capture how much of an investee company’s earnings are reported in black-listed tax havens esma.europa.eu/sites/default/

What's significant here is that any large multinational operating in Austrailia will need to produce a breakdown of income, profits & taxes *across the world* The new rules don't just apply to large MNCs headquartered in Oz - eg could capture Amazon!

Well done the big down under To date, the EU has been pushing the envelope on tax transparency, but has made a number of big compromises (loopholes) at behest of their tax haven member states But if passed, Australia will be *the* clear global leader internationaltaxreview.com/article/2bj7xk

At a personal level, I'd be more than happy to see full first year expensing of capital allowances extended beyond 2026 *if* investments help the UK get to net zero as soon as possible But across the board tax give away is both daft and wasteful
