Of course in theory this number reduces as DfE rolls out laptops. If they do indeed get 1 million out, that would cover off most children, though note they still need a suitable place to work at home and in many households there won't be space/quiet to do that.

Much more of everything is going on than during the first lockdown, traffic is reduced from normal but not to anything like down to the levels seen in March-June.

Bradford city centre busier than I've seen it in months yesterday... Yes I had essential work I needed to do in person. Didn't look like lots of other folk had essential work tho...

It's pointless. My wife and I are both critical workers. She is a teacher and absolutely needs to be in work whereas I can do more of a blend, but our child did not get a place as they are restricting access to 'those on front line of fighting Covid' as they got too many requests
