Senator Patty Murray’s Tweets

We cannot grow numb to MAGA Republicans’ nonstop attacks on our reproductive rights. We cannot accept this as the new normal. I'm going to keep fighting back—and I need everyone to join me too.

Child care workers shouldn’t be forced to leave their jobs because their wages are too low to make ends meet. We’ve got to fix our child care crisis—including by giving providers a raise—so we can build a stronger economy for everyone.

FDA scientists and medical experts should be deciding what drugs are safe for people, not right-wing judges. Today I’m leading 250+ of my Democratic colleagues in urging SCOTUS to protect full access to mifepristone nationwide. There’s too much at stake to let this ruling stand.

The PACT Act is the biggest expansion of veterans health care in decades—it's huge for Washington state's veterans and will help make sure our nation fulfills its promise to support every single one of our veterans when they return from service.

LGBTQ+ people across Washington state and the country deserve to be accepted with love and to live their lives proudly—not silenced. On this #DayOfSilence, I stand with the LGBTQ+ community fighting for true equality and acceptance.

The Puget Sound is one of Washington state’s greatest treasures—and it's critical to our communities, economy, and way of life. I'm focused on making sure Congress delivers much-needed resources to protect and restore it.

This ruling will add confusion for women everywhere seeking abortion care or outright deny it to them. With this ruling, judges are overruling scientists & medical experts to dictate when & how women access safe medication abortion. This can’t stand—we’ve got to fight back.

I am going to keep fighting to pass my Women's Health Protection Act to restore Roe and the right to abortion in all 50 states. We owe it to women everywhere to get this done.

Every single patient should be able to get abortion care knowing their privacy will be protected—and that their health care decisions can’t be used against them. This is a critical step by the Biden Admin to help protect patients in the face of draconian GOP laws.

This outrageous decision could deny patients in every state access to medication abortion—& threaten FDA’s ability to just do its job. I’m leading Congress in support of the Biden Admin’s appeal & urging the court to prevent this ruling from taking effect.

We need a federal assault weapons ban and universal background checks—and we need them now. No more Republican obstructionism, it's time to act.

I'm glad the Biden Administration is appealing this dangerous ruling. Everyone should be able to count on their insurance covering preventive health care so they can stay on top of their health without worrying about cost.

I’m heartbroken to see yet another mass shooting take place in our county—this time in Louisville, KY. We don't have to live this way. Commonsense gun safety legislation would make a huge difference in keeping our communities & families safe—& I’ll keep working to get it done.

Let me spell it out: Republicans want to ban abortion everywhere—from Seattle to New York. This ruling that could ban medication abortion nationwide is just the latest in Republicans’ decades-long effort to ban abortion in every part of this country any way they can.

Republicans have carefully plotted out every judicial confirmation, every lawsuit, and every action in their crusade to ban abortion in all 50 states. I won’t stop fighting back—and we need everyone in this fight too. We cannot afford to lose.

This ruling is outrageous & can’t stand. It would effectively create a nationwide ban on the most common way people get an abortion. The science has long been settled—medication abortion is safe & effective—but GOP extremists will stop at nothing to force women to stay pregnant.

It's been one year since we confirmed Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Whether it's inspiring women and girls everywhere or her masterful questioning on the Court, it's clear she has already made her mark in the history books!

In a fair and strong economy, every single worker should be able to: organize for better wages and working conditions take paid leave afford child care in their community earn a living wage and so much more This is the America I'm working towards.

Stories like these are heartbreaking—and they're far from uncommon. Our child care crisis is holding women, families, and our economy back, and we've got to fix it in order to move our country forward.

What this barbaric new abortion law says to young Idaho women is: you don’t have a right to control your own body in this state—and don’t you dare try to get the care you need elsewhere.   It's enraging and it's why we have to restore Roe in all 50 states.

Great to visit the Elwha River today—one of my favorite places in all of WA state—with Tribal leaders. The increase in salmon habitat since the removal of the dams is an exciting update & marks an important point in the salmon restoration efforts we all are striving for.

Today alongside , the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, & local leaders, I saw firsthand the invasive European green crabs that are threatening Puget Sound. Let's stop this invasive species and protect WA state’s precious natural ecosystems.

Invasive European green crabs are wreaking havoc on Puget Sound's ecosystems, hampering our salmon and orca recovery efforts, and hurting treaty-protected Tribes. I'm working to make sure the federal government backs efforts to stop the invasion of these crabs.
