Mr. Duncan was on the wrong side of these rights in the infamous Hobby Lobby case, fighting for intolerant bathroom bans against transgender people, and defending the discriminatory Voter ID law in North Carolina which SCOTUS struck down.

In my home state of Washington, Mr. Duncan filed a brief arguing pharmacies should be allowed to refuse to fill birth control prescriptions for ideological reasons. Fortunately, his views did not prevail.

Any one of the cases Mr. Duncan has taken, or the ideological arguments he has made should raise alarm— all of them together paint an unmistakable picture of a nominee who would not uphold women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, or civil rights.

Thank you for voting no. Duncan is a terrible nominee who will intentionally and actively discriminate against Americans based on his personal biases. We need judges who will uphold civil rights for all.
