With the strong support of Democratic leadership in both chambers, I’ve worked with Republicans for months in good faith to try to negotiate a bipartisan agreement to lower health care costs and restore much-needed stability to health care in our country.
It’s unfortunate Senator McConnell and Speaker Ryan have time and time again rejected bipartisan work on health care in favor of partisan health care politics, and chosen politically-driven show votes over getting a result for families.
Republican leaders were unwilling to get this done for patients and families once again, but I’m going to keep working to get Republicans back to the table to work with us on health care policies that actually help deliver what people want: lower health care costs.

Thank you for your efforts. Health care costs are a major burden on our economy. And I suspect such costs will only become more challenging due to the age wave as the Baby Boomer generation retires and becomes elderly.
Don’t get me wrong @PattyMurray please keep fighting for affordable health care because I think every single American should have access to the best care like you n everyone else up on The Hill for the same price (Tax payer funded) but nobody seems to agree why or how...
