By increasing investments in education, health care, infrastructure, and other middle class & national security priorities, this budget deal is a step away from the constant crises we’ve seen far too much of in this Republican Congress.
This isn’t what I would have written on my own, and I know it’s not the bill Republicans would have written on their own—but it’s an important step forward in this Republican Congress to invest in and protect families, patients, and communities.
Republicans control the White House, the Senate, and the House—but they have committed to working with us to finally pass immigration legislation, and I am going to keep fighting to protect DREAMers and their families and to hold Republicans accountable until this gets done.
