It all starts with Big Pharma and the over prescribed and distribution of Opiods! Perhaps they should be pulled off the market until we can figure out how to keep them from being so widely distributed?

I think before we make significant inroads in the volume of prescription opioids, we need to fund research on drugless analgesic therapies that Big Pharma won’t. Can’t just discourage mds from prescribing opioids; many people especially elderly cannot take NSAIDS or steroids.

Unfortunately alternatives to opoids are rarely discussed, let alone paid for. Physical and occupational therapy, electrical stimulation, and deep tissue manual therapy have all helped me. Medicare regulations limit these services and some insurances won't pay for them at all.
