this framing of "they are valuable to our communities" upholds the idea that dreamers are only valuable in their usefulness to other people and not inherently as human beings. do better.

Less than five years ago all 54 Democrats in the Senate voted for doubling the length of a new border fence with Mexico, ending the diversity visa lottery, stopping family members of U.S. citizens from coming here on reunification visas, and even creating “merit-based” visas.

What about the American Dreamers? I’m in debt $80,00 for my son’s college education. I don’t want to hear about how hard the illegals have it! They get discounted college education and medical. How about taking care of citizens first????
